A Workshop led by Setsuko Kennedy. Theme: Arrangement to be Viewed from Above

Our workshop will be held on Sunday 13 at 2 - 4pm in the Khandallah Presbyterian Church Hall, 33 Ganges Road.

Theme: Arrangement to be Viewed from Above, Book 4, lesson 15. Setsuko provided the following notes:

“First of all, please make a composition by keeping in mind the view from above and being aware that the space between the arranged materials and the container looks shorter when you view the arrangement from above.

Please pay attention to how the water appears when you use a Suiban with a wide-open space.  If you use a Nageire vase, the composition can look different from usual when viewed from above.
This lesson of paying special attention to the Space, the Quality of Light, and the environment is very important, especially when you prepare for the Exhibitions and Study groups.

Sofu says, “Flowers, vases, and floral forms cannot be set “as usual.” Above all, the rarity of the moment cannot be forgotten.  If you are aware of it, then there will be many ways to express it”

Looking forward to seeing you at the workshop. Setsuko Kennedy”
